DAVOS BUSINESS EVENTS · ALL SEASONS

Planning a corporate event in Davos?
Start with the season, not the venue.

Davos is a working conference destination throughout the year. A sound brief begins with why people are gathering, which dates serve them and what the venue must actually be able to deliver.

The destination should make the business meeting better—not simply more expensive.

THE CORE QUESTION

THE YEAR-ROUND MARKET

One conference town. More than one reason to gather.

Davos Klosters describes more than 400 events a year and a destination offering over 100 meeting rooms. The Davos Congress Centre reports 34 rooms and spaces for meetings from about 20 up to large conference formats.

That means the January annual meeting is only one part of the business-events market. The right event may be a small team offsite or a company conference months away from the World Economic Forum.

SEASONAL DECISIONS

Different Davos weeks need different plans.

These are format considerations, not current availability claims. Check your chosen venue, event and transport arrangements independently.

01

Annual-meeting week

Suitable questions: Independent executive dinners, investor meetings, side sessions and brand houses with a compelling audience reason.

Verify: Check the officially confirmed annual-meeting dates, current local venue/build rules and each host’s access policy. January 2027 is 18–22 January.

Exposure: Highly compressed calendars and exceptional operating constraints; a WEF badge or invitation is not included.

02

Other winter dates

Suitable questions: Leadership offsites, private client programmes, board meetings, product briefings and small conferences.

Verify: Confirm winter arrivals, daylight, accessible routes, supplier access windows and accommodation for the actual dates.

Exposure: Transfers and freight may be affected by conditions; published journey times are not guarantees.

03

Spring, summer and autumn

Suitable questions: Multi-day conferences, retreats, team gatherings, training programmes and executive hospitality beyond the January peak.

Verify: Verify opening dates for preferred properties, available rooms, technical equipment, group activities and seasonal transport.

Exposure: Do not assume every mountain venue, attraction or service operates year-round.

THE BUYER’S SEQUENCE

Five decisions before paying a venue deposit.

Keeping the sequence consistent makes proposals comparable and gives your team a clear point of accountability.

01

Decide whether Davos suits the meeting

Define whose attendance is essential, why the setting advances the work, and what would count as a successful outcome.

02

Choose the operating format

A hosted table, hired meeting room, hotel conference floor and branded corporate house create different staffing and permission obligations.

03

Compare actual venue options

Check permitted use, guest capacity, access, privacy, AV, inclusions, cancellation and winter logistics on the same scorecard.

04

Build a supplier-based budget

Ask for written prices for venue, catering, production, people, freight, accommodation and taxes. Keep blank lines visible.

05

Verify before contracting

Have the owner or responsible authority confirm approvals. Obtain a written scope, payment terms, emergency responsibilities and backup plan.

JANUARY ANNUAL MEETING

Planning specifically for 2027?

Separate official participation from independent hospitality, corporate houses and privately organised gatherings. The January 2027 planning page covers the verified calendar and the temporary-build constraints reported for that year.

THE NEXT BUYER DECISION

Choose the delivery model after the season and audience

A year-round business meeting and a January activation can need entirely different access, staffing and contracting plans. Start from the objective, then select the operating model.
