DAVOS 2027 · VERIFIED DATES

18–22 January 2027.
What can your team do with those five days?

The World Economic Forum Annual Meeting is scheduled for Monday 18 to Friday 22 January. These are planning prompts for independently hosted corporate programmes, not an official WEF agenda.

MON18 JAN01 / 05

Start with a workable room

Confirm your independent event time, the responsible host, guest arrivals and the actual venue access terms.

TUE19 JAN02 / 05

Protect meeting transitions

Allow for winter transfers, check-in queues and private conversations that cannot run over schedule.

WED20 JAN03 / 05

Review the real guest list

Reconfirm invited attendees, dietary needs, consent and last-minute changes without promising named guests.

THU21 JAN04 / 05

Keep production resilient

Recheck staffing, AV, power, service timing and a workable contingency for any venue or supplier change.

FRI22 JAN05 / 05

Turn the week into next steps

Assign ownership of approved content, guest follow-ups, supplier handback and post-event measurement.

Official meeting versus private events: The annual meeting at the Davos Congress Centre is organised by the World Economic Forum. Separately organised dinners, roundtables and hospitality events have their own hosts, access rules, permissions and invitations.

DAVOS EVENTS IN JANUARY 2027

One official annual meeting. Many independently hosted events.

Searching for “Davos events” or the 2027 programme? Start by checking who is actually organising the gathering.

The World Economic Forum Annual Meeting is the official 18–22 January 2027 event at the Davos Congress Centre. Its programme, participation and credentials are controlled by its organiser.

Independent side events may include private dinners, corporate houses, sponsored gatherings or closed-door roundtables. Their hosts set separate invitations and access arrangements; a private event is not automatically an official Forum session.

For corporate event buyers: before inviting guests or paying a supplier, request an exact venue and date, named organiser, contractual permission status and cancellation terms. Public event directories are discovery tools, not proof of availability.

Official meeting dates and organiser: Davos Klosters and Davos Congress Centre.

THE OPERATING REALITY

What is unusually difficult about Davos?

A compact mountain town must absorb a dense concentration of senior visitors, suppliers and security restrictions. Planning is as much about access windows, service continuity and guest movement as it is about creative design.

Before booking anything, confirm who bears the risk if plans change, what approvals the property owner requires, and which deadlines are fixed.

PLANNING TIMELINE

A practical sequence.

  1. 01October–November 2026

    Make the big decisions

    • Agree a primary business objective and decision owner.
    • Choose one lead format and one realistic fallback.
    • Set a budget envelope including supplier contingencies.
    • Start outreach to potential venues and production partners.
  2. 02November–December 2026

    Convert the concept into commitments

    • Request written scope and availability from shortlisted providers.
    • Confirm insurance, permissions, staffing and load-in constraints.
    • Begin targeted invitations and set a guest data-handling plan.
    • Map AV, catering, guest flow, accessibility and transport.
  3. 03Early January 2027

    Stress-test the operating plan

    • Reconfirm supplier bookings and venue access windows.
    • Approve creative files and manage print/production deadlines.
    • Reconfirm guests and brief hosts with consent and privacy expectations.
    • Run contingency exercises for weather, late changes and transport.
  4. 0418–22 January 2027

    Deliver, document, adapt

    • Run on-site daily briefs, escalations and decision logs.
    • Keep a live guest and programme change register.
    • Capture only appropriately consented content.
    • Track agreed measures and compile a post-week action list.
  5. 05After Davos

    Turn conversations into momentum

    • Debrief against the original business objectives.
    • Follow up with guests and stakeholders while context is fresh.
    • Review production and supplier performance.
    • Decide what is worth repeating next year.

THE DEPOSIT CHECK

Four things to get in writing before you commit.

In a constrained week, the biggest risk is often an assumption nobody thought to put in the contract.

  1. The space is genuinely yours. Ask for the contracting entity, exact dates and hours, permitted uses, capacity, access route and restoration obligations. An introduction to a property is not a booking.
  2. The format is permitted. Confirm branding, installations, catering, sound, filming, security and relevant Swiss/local permissions with the actual property owner and authorities where applicable.
  3. The full exposure is visible. Compare supplier currency, Swiss taxes where applicable, insurance, crew accommodation, overtime, cancellation provisions and a sensible contingency—not just the headline venue fee.
  4. Someone owns each failure point. Name the decision-maker for transport disruption, late VIP changes, power or connectivity failure, supplier absence and the backup format.

Use this as a commissioning checklist, not legal or permit advice. Your proposed venue and suppliers must confirm the current rules in writing.

THE FIRST BUDGET CONVERSATION

Scope the whole system, not the centrepiece.

  • Space: hire, deposits, access, restoration and utilities.
  • Experience: branding, furniture, catering, AV and technical personnel.
  • People: guest management, staff, transport liaison and security requirements.
  • Risk: weather, cancellations, supplier substitutions and overtime.
  • Value: objectives, measurement, follow-up and content reuse.
Ask for an indicative scope ↗

THREE NEXT DECISIONS

Choose what remains feasible, then brief suppliers.

For a new brief in late October 2026, treating a temporary pavilion as a straightforward purchase is risky. Verify the venue's actual permission status first, then explore proportionate formats.
